Our Services

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

Colossians 3:16

Sunday School is for Bible students of all ages. We have a nursery for infants and classes for everyone else. The adult class topics change periodically.  There is a “Basics for Believers” class for those students new to Bible study.

The Morning Worship Service is designed to allow God’s people the opportunity to give praise and adoration to God by singing, praying and Hearing the Word of God.

The Evening Service is an informal service where God’s Word is preached, hymns are sung, and God’s people have the opportunity to share praises and prayer requests. We occasionally have missionaries who share their  ministries during this time.

The Prayer Meeting is focused upon praying for the needs of our church family and others outside our church body who have needs. We sing some songs of praise, have a short Bible study, and then approach God in prayer together.

Visiting FBC

Where is Faith Bible Church Located?

We are located on Main Street in the town of Winsted in Connecticut between the IGA Supersaver Market and the Gilson Theatre at:

Where Do I Park?

There is parking located directly in front of the church and across the street on Main Street. There is also a parking lot directly behind Faith Bible Church located next to the old IGA Supersaver parking lot.

Is there a Dress Code at Faith Bible Church?

While we do not have a specific dress code, great care should be taken to ensure modesty in dress. This care will show that you respect the body that God has given you. We believe the focus should be on worship and should not be on clothing that draws attention to us.

Are there Programs for my Children and Teen(s) at Faith Bible Church?

Children’s Programs

AWANA is a 60 year international ministry that reaches children and families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Faith Bible Church’s goal in this ministry is to help children trust in Christ for salvation, to grow in their biblical faith, and to equip them for service to God. The Awana club program is available on Friday evenings from 6:30P to 8:30 p.m. and is available to children from kindergarten to 6th grade. AWANA helps churches and parents worldwide rear children and youth to know, love and serve Christ!

Junior Church is held during our Sunday 10:15 a.m. service for children 4 – 8 years old. Every month, your children will learn about a new topic such as “Being Kind”, “Being Obedient”, “Missionary Work”, and “Reading the Bible”. We also teach children about the meaning of holidays such as Easter and Christmas.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a ministry outreach churches provide to educate children, teens, and adults about God. Teachers at VBS are church members and parents volunteering their time. The VBS Vacation Themes and Activities change from year to year.

Teen Programs

What We Believe

FBC Mission Statement

The mission of Faith Bible Church is to see the great commission fulfilled in Northwest Connecticut and around the world through a balance of WINNING the seekers, BUILDING the believers, and EQUIPPING the workers, resulting in the making of disciples of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20

Doctrinal Statement

We believe in salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone.

We believe the Bible is the inerrant inspired Word of God in the original autographs.

We believe in the personal pre-millennial pre-tribulational return of Jesus Christ for His Saints.

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and God-breathed.

II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21

We believe in the trinity which is one triune God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-eternal, co-identical in nature, and co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.

Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14

We believe the Virgin birth of the Son of God, His substitutionary sacrifice on the cross for the sins of mankind, His resurrection from the dead, His ascension into the Father’s presence, and His Second Coming to the earth to reign.

Matthew 1:23; Colossians 2:9

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and that He is the Supernatural Agent of regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.  We believe that God does hear and answer the prayer of faith, in accord with His own will.

I Corinthians 6:19-20; Ephesians 1:13-14

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and that man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.

Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23

We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a substitutionary sacrifice; and all who believe in Him are justified by His shed-blood.

Romans 5:9; John 3:16

We believe that all who receive, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God.  We believe that all the redeemed are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever.

John 1:12; I Peter 1:23; Romans 8:14; John 10:28-29

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead bodily, that He ascended into Heaven, and that He lives in Heaven today in the same body in which He arose from the grave.

John 20:19-20; Acts 1:9

We believe that salvation is entirely and only by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, that no work of any description can in any way earn our salvation, but on the other hand, that good works are expected of those who have been born again.

Ephesians 2:8-9

We believe in the personal, imminent, pretribulation, and premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ; first, to catch up unto Himself the Church and then to return to earth with His resurrected saints to establish His Millennial Kingdom.

John 14:3; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Jude 14

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost. (Revelations 20:12-15;

John 5:28-29; Matthew 14:3, Dan 12:1-2

We believe in the one true Church, the body of Christ, composed of all who have been born again through faith in Christ Jesus, and only of such.  As members of the one body, all members are united by the Holy Spirit to one another and all in Christ, who is the Head of the Body, the Church.

I Corinthians 12:12-13; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:25

We believe the following movements are out of harmony with the Word of God and contrary to the official doctrine and position of Faith Bible Church:

  1. The modern Ecumenical movement with such advocates as the National and World Council of Churches.
  2. The Neo-Evangelical movement characterized by cooperation and dialogue with theological liberalism.
  3. The so-called Charismatic movement characterized by a strong emphasis on tongues, healing, and miracles. (I Corinthians 12-14)

Believing this to be the teaching of the Scriptures, and having the witness of the Holy Spiritthat we are the children of God, and therefore, being a part of God’s church on earth, we invite all to unite themselves with us for common edification and Christian work with Jesus Christ as Head and final authority.  We also welcome all visitors who wish to learn more about the Lord Jesus.
